1968 HK Monaro #13D
Driven by Bruce McPhee and partly by Barry Mulholland, this was the first Monaro to win the Hardie-Ferodo 500.
Despite racing against factory supported teams, McPhee defeated these bigger competitiors by fitting his Monaro with used, almost balding tyres. Claiming they were faster than tyres with full tread.
This was Holdens first of many Bathurst wins.
