Amongst a strong field for the Wellington 500 the Johnson/Crichton pairing qualified fourth in their Mustang GT. Wet weather and attrition played a large part in the results. While leading late in the race, both the Volvo 24pT of Francevic/Lindstrom and the BMW 635 of Longhurst/Crowe retired. This allowed the VK Commodore of Brock/Moffat to take the checkered flag, with Johnson/Crichton finishing 1 lap behind in second place.
New tooling that features on our 1986 Mustang GT Wellington 500 are the removal of side body trim, addition of the passenger side mirror and rear Momo wheel rims.
