Holden Torana L34 1975 Bond #2 * 18447

In Round 1 of the 1975 Australian Touring Car Championship, held at Symmons Plains, Bond took pole position and ultimatedly the checkered flag. In the following rounds Bond’s Torana suffered problems, but in Adelaide, Round 6, Bond led the entire race from pole, set the fastest lap and won. At Lakeside, the final round, Bond again led the entire race taking his third season race win and winning the championship title by 16 points, proving that he was indeed an extraordinary driver.

Colin Bond started his racing career in 1964 and was extraordinary driver in both circuit racing and rallying. ?Colin Bond joined the Holden Dealer Team in 1969 and when Peter Brock decided to leave HDT at the end of th ’74 season it was an easy decision for team manager Harry Firth to give the reins to Colin Bond.
